welcome to operative records
Operative records was set up due to extreme dissatisfaction with the narrow paradigms and agendas of most record labels in existence today. It welcomes and encourages diversity and singular vision, rather then aiming for a generic label sound.
All the artists have common ground in that they have been performing or producing their own material for some time, and can broadly be described as outsider music - independent of fashion and trends and seeking their own niche creation for their own unique ideal.
Operative aims to be inclusive, not exclusive, visible not obscure, an opportunity to discover new sounds and forms without assumed knowledge or reference points being required of the audience. It's there if you want it. It's there anyway.
